Abstract
The project of the National Contact Point for Infrared Technologies (IRT) for International Security Research will systematically develop the specific capabilities needed to ensure the security of the state and its citizens through the application of infrared measurement and imaging systems in the areas of fighting organized crime, CBRN protection, disaster risk reduction and other security topics accentuated by European framework programs. The key activity of the project will be networking between the research team, top foreign workplaces in the field of rather basic research of infrared technologies and individual subjects of the security system in the Czech Republic. Ideas for joint international research cooperation and projects will draw from it. Part of the key activities of the project will also include analyzes of the needs of the security system of the Czech Republic, analyzes of the possibilities of new technical solutions based on top international research, and analyzes of opportunities for involvement in the calls of international research projects in connection with the possibilities of applying modern infrared technologies for effective intervention of the components of the security system.
