The European Technology Platform Photonics21 – Europe as a leader in the development and deployment of photonics technologies

Photonics21 aims to establish Europe as a leader in the development and deployment of photonics technologies within the various applications fields such as ICT, lighting, industrial manufacturing, life science, safety as well as in education and training. The platform brings together leading industries and key stakeholders in photonics research and development across Europe. Today Photonics21 has more than 3000 members.

Doc. Ing. Jiří Martan, Ph.D. was elected to the Board of Stakeholders of the European Technology Platform Photonics21 for the period 2017 – 2021 and again in the period 2022 – 2026.

SPIE – the international society for optics and photonics – Development of light-based science and technology

SPIE is a not-for-profit society which advances emerging technologies through interdisciplinary information exchange, continuing education, publications, patent precedent, and career and professional growth. In 2020, for instance, SPIE provided more than $5 million in community support including scholarships and awards, outreach and advocacy programs, travel grants, public policy, and educational resources.

We have been members of SPIE since 2021.

In 2021, our team received the prestigious SPIE Education Outreach grant for the second time for the educational project LabIR Edu.

ATD ČR, z.s. – Association of Technical Diagnostics of the Czech Republic

Prof. Ing. Milan Honner, Ph.D. is a member of the highest body in the position of the head of the expert group of thermodiagnostics.

In 2019, ATD ČR, z.s. certificated our Approved training workplace in the field of thermodiagnostics. We perform a training and educational process designed to prepare for the certification of persons to perform the function of DIAGNOSTICS THERMOGRAPHY TECHNICIAN (according to ČSN ISO 18436), we provide independent professional assistance to graduates and organize professional meetings of certified persons (Termoden workshop) and other specific seminars.

ČNDT, z.s. – Czech Society for Non-Destructive Testing

Researchers of the team Thermographic testing of materials led by Ing. Michal Švantner, Ph.D. have long been involved in active thermography and infrared non-destructive testing. They have been members of the CNDT since 2018 and regularly participate in the international Defectoscopy conference.

The purpose of ČNDT’s activities is to support the development and application of non-destructive testing by bringing together workers in the field, informing them and acquainting them with new testing technologies and modern instrumentation.

European Committee for Standardization (CEN) – a leading provider of voluntary European Standards and related products and services

In 2018, the European Standard for Thermography “EN 17119: 2018 Non-destructive testing – Thermographic testing – Active thermography” was published. Ing. Michal Švantner, Ph.D. has been involved in the completion of this standard since 2016 as a member of the working group CEN / TC 138 / WG 11 “Thermographic Testing”.

ELI – European Laser Institute e.V. – a platform bringing together the competence and knowledge on optical technologies
